At the Magistrate's Court, Albert Kirby, aged 17, a son of ex-detective Kirby, and Joseph Barry were charged with breaking and entering the Novelty Depot and stealing goods valued at £'2 12s 4d. About five this evening a man, aged 27, who gavo the name of John Shannon, walked into the police station and gave himself in charge, stating he had cut his throat.
