Stock Markets.
Mr Charles Carr reports having held stock sales at Birmingham and Feilding on the 18th and 21st insts. respectively. The Birmingham sale was well attended, I and more stock came forward than was udyertised. The bidding was brisk throughout, with the result that nearly every pen was sold at recent values. At Feilding considerably more stock came forward than was advertised. Although the bidding was slack, nearly every pen of both sheep and cattle found purchasers after tbe sale. Following are the prices realised : — At Birmingham — 2^-yr steers, L 3 0s 6d to L 3 4a 6d ; 2-yr steers, L 2 12s ; 3-yr steers, L 3 15s to L 8 17s 6d ; springing heifers, L 4. Mixed hoggets, 7s to 9s ; fat wethers, 13s ; store wethers, lls lid to 12s. At Feilding— Fat cows, L 4 to Lo ss ; bullocks, L 4 7s 6d ; yearlings, 32b ; weanere, 235. Wethers, lls to 13s ; lambs, 5s 6d to 7s 8d ; fat ewes, 10s; ewes in lamb, 2, 4, and 6-tooth, 10s ; cross-bred ewes, 2-tooth, 7s to 7s 9d.
