Mr Cutler is the first and only bona fide maker in the Colonies ; having made the first in Wellington in 1876 to the order of the late Thomas Mills, Esq. for which he received 95 guineas. Hia subsequent success was in Chnstchurch, where he made seventy three instruments, and the lowest price obtained was 65gs.
