As this is tho last private members' day, the Totalisator Bill cannot come on again. The debate is now proceeding on thf! second reading of O'Regan's Proportional Referendum Bill. August 20. After further debate the second reading of O'Regan's Preferential Voting and Proportional Representation Bill was negatived by 19 to 12, and the Bill thus thrown out The House rose at 1.30.
