Hospital Board.
The meeting of the Palmerston Hospital Board was held yesterday. Pre- 1 seat— Messrs Park (chairman), Kendall, Ransom, Harris, Ravenhill and Lethbridge. The following correspondence was received and dealt with : — From L.. G. West, offering to complete ; plans of the Hospital grounds free of further cost to the Board. ; From A. Pascoe. tendering thanks to ] rhe Hospital nursing staff for kindness during his illness at the institution. — The Board expressed its satisfaction at the efficiency of the staff. Krom J. J. Tuohy, forwarding on behalf of Mr Sidet, of Feilding, some hams and sides of bacon. — Thanks to be returned. From R. S. Abraham, stating that the amateurs who took part in the recent performance in aid of the funds of the Polo Club were willing to repeat the same in aid of the Hospital. — Offer accepted with thanks. From Halcombe Town Board, asking what steps had been taken to get Mr Pope into the Blind Asylum. — Consideration deferred. From Drs Wilson and Mclntyre, applying t for re-appointment as surgeons of the Hospital.— Appointed on same terms aa last year. The following returns were laid on the table : — Amount received from patients in private wards from 1895 to 1896, £116 12s 6d, of which £6 was still outstanding. Fourteen patients were discharged from the Hospital during the year ended aOth June, 1896, who had been in the Hospital over three months. A return of the fracture cases showed that 19 cases had been received during the same amounting to i' 374 2s 9d were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.— Standard.
