-» ■ QUEENSLAND v. WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 12. Wellington put up a record against Queensland, scoring no less tban 49 points to 7. The ground was dry, tbe weather fine and about 2500 people present. The local men had the advantage of a smart breeze in tbe first spell, but scored the most in the latter balf when playing against it. Altogether they got fourteen tries, of which two were converted and a penalty goal. Queensland's score was two goals dropped from penalty kicks and marked by Grafton and Evans. Both were excellent kicks. The visitors' defence was wholly broken down by fcbe irresistible rushes of their heavy opponents, combined with the admirable passing of the backs. The ball was frequently passed from hand to hand for half the length of the ground, and at the finish the Wellington men alone would be near the ball. It is only fair, however, to mention that Queensland kept out some of their best men in view of the New Zealand match on Satirday, In this Pauling (Wellington) wiU replace Murray (Auckland), who cannot get away.
