(Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 10. When the steamer Anglian arrived from the South yeßterdav, berthing at the Queen street jetty, aptaiu Hood bad some difficulty in berthing the steamer, owing to a strong; flood tide, and the vessel nor anawv-rin" h^ helm quickly. While she was backing out p*at ibe end of the Queen street wharf, the tide caugbt the vessel and Bwnng her on to the Ran«»tira, which was berthed there, with the lesult that the Anglian had two of her davits carried away, part of the rails ■mashed, and damage done to part ot the rigging. Her departure has been postponed till to-morrow. It is stated tbat the Rangatira goes into dock to morrow for examination.
