(Per Press Association). CHRiSTcnuRCH, August 3. The City Council tonight passed a resolution of regret at the death of Mr J. E. FitzGerald and Mr P. Cunningham. Wellington, August 4. The B.a. Maori from London via the Cape and Hobart passed Farewell Spit, bound for Wellington at eleyenthis morning and arrives here about nine to-night. Mr Martin Kennedy who is at present in England has cabled to his attorney in Wellington directing him to pay a donation of LilOO to the Brunner Relief Fund. The Maori girl Te Uru Ngatuna, who was severely burned last Friday having succumbed to her injuries an inquest was held to-day, a verdict of accidental death being returned. Dunedin, August 4. At a meeting of the Presbytery to-day, it was decided Dot to forward to the Synod the overtures opposing marriage with deceased wife's sister which was submitted by the Rev. Mr Sutherland. The body of Annie Bland, wife of a settler at Waitati, was found in the Waitati Btreani. She was 54 years of age, The case is supposed to be one of suicide. Tijiaru, August 4. Fredk. Eichbaum, a farmer at Pleasant Point, committed suicide at Timaru this morning by firing two shots out of a revolver at his head. He has been eccentric for some time. He suffered sunstrokes in Coolg&rdie.
