Carbine's list comprieed '69 mares during hia first season in England, 11 of which belonged to the Dnke of Portland, who has thus got back L 5600 of the L 13.000 he gave for Musket's most famous son in the first year. The DuKe has given the flower of the Welbeck stud in Memoir, Semolina, Mowerina, Wheel of Fortune, Amiable, Miss Middlewick, Mrs Butterwick and Modewna. The Priuca of Wales and all the leading breeders in England are amongst those Vfho hava sent mares to Carbine, whose list, at a fee of 20Q guineas, has been filled for the next two years.
