Football News.

It is probable that a match will be arranged between the Rangitikei and Manawatu Unions for Wednesday, oth August. The match may be played at Palmerston, but in fairness te the Feilding players it should be played hero, as all the rep. matches have hitherto been played at Palmerston. Besides, the Manawatu reps meet Nelson on August Bt.h, and Canterbury on the 11th, at Palmerston. A meeting of the Manawatu Rugby Union Protest Committee was held at Palmerston last evening. Mr E. Goodbehere presided. The Red Star-Rongo-tea protest was decided in favor of the Rongotea Club. It was decided that the Awahuri and Rongotea Clubs should play their match over again. The protest of the Kauhauganui Club against Pirate II playing senior men was decided in favor of the Pirates, as was a similar protest by the Rongotea Club. Strong comment was made against the Pirates ' ringing in " senior men.
