Messrs A. G. Tame and Co report for the week ending July 20th : — Fat sheep — Still firm, and none too plentiful ; up to 16s for prime wethers. Fat ewes, lls to 12s for good weights ; store wethers very scarce, and in keen demand— in sales, values, lls to 12s 6d ; hoggets 7s to 9s ; ewes in lamb, four and six-tooth 10s to lls for good sheep; full mouthed 7s to 8s 6d. Fat cattle firmer; still shipping to the South — 17s to 17s 6d for prime beef ; cows, 14s to 153. Store cattle. — Buyers about for almost any class ; weaners, 20s to 26s ; yearlings and 18 months, 35s to 42s 6d ; two-year steers, L 2 10s to L 3 ss ; grown bullocks L4to L 5 10s. Dairy cattle— All our sales have been private ones. Really good cows, L7to L 8 10 ; aged, L4to L 5 10s, if good and near calving. Pigs — Demand improving ; slips, 7a to 10s ; porkers scarce, could place any number up to 28s ; baconers, 35s to 455.
