The Wool Market.
The Loan and Mercantile Company , reoort under London market cable dated \ 21st July, 1896, as follows :— Wool— The sales closed firmly this day. Since the close of last sales, ' superior, medium and inferior greasy, \ washed and scoured merino, and fine . washed and scoured crossbrod are £d , per 1b lower ; fine and medium greasy crosßbrad are par at £d per lb higher ; medium washed and scoured crossbred, coarse washed and scoured crossbred { superior, medium and inferior greasy lambs are \A per lb lower ; coarse greasy i crossbred is par at £d per lb higher. i Other descriptions unchanged. The total quantity sold during the ppst sales was 229,000 bales, of which 105,000 \ bales have been taken for the continent , and 9,000 bales for America. It is estimated that 73,000 bales have been held over for future disposal.
