The Public Works Statement will be delivered in about a fortnight from now. A sitting of the Wellington Supreme Court in Banco was held before the Chief Justice yesterday. Argument was heard in the case of Goodbehere v Batb, in which an information against the respondent for building a house on a public road bad been dismissed by the masis< trate (Mr Stanford.) The appellant, who is clerk to the Kiwitea County Council, alleged that the decision was based on an erroneous view of the law. Tbe Chief Justice decided that tbe case should be remitted to the Magistrate to state the facts which he found, and the question of law involved.
