Rongotea 1.0.G.T. Anniversary Meeting.

On Wednesday evening last there was a large attendance at the anniversary meeting of the Rongotea Good Templars Lodge, held in the Temperance Hall. Tiie tea was under the charge of the ladies, the catering being done by Mr Langley. The Hall was crowded for the public meeting, when Mr S. Enight presided. Mr Hansom, one of the trustees of the hall, read a statement of receipts and expenditure, which showed that after paying for the new addition there would be a debit balanca of .£SO. He estimated this would be paid off by ordinary income in the course of about three years. On the motion of Mr Broadbelt, a vote of thanks was passed to the trustees for their successful management of the hall funds. During the evening, Miss Malcolm, Messrs De Luen, Williams, and Halsden, who attended the meeting from Palmerston, with Mr Grace, gave songs, each of which was well piyen. Miss Bevis contributed greatly to the enjoyment of the evening by her rendering of the recitation " What the train brought." Messrs Stubbs (President of the Palmerston Prohibition League), G. Grant, Grace, and Ransom, g.ive addresses on the Prohibition movement.
