Gold Mining News.

[Per Press Association] Perth July 18. The gold yield for June was 27,9330z — the record for the colony. A trial crushing of 15 tons of selected gtone from the Queen Margaret mine yielded slightly over 13oz to the ton. Very rich stone has since been struck at at the 100 ft level of the same mine. A discovery of rich reefs is reported between Mounts Jackson and Magnet in the vicinity of Lake Darlot. Two tons of stone from the Orient mine, Lake Austin, gave a sensational ! yield of 7950z. Brisbane, July 13. The gold yield of the colony for the > last quarter was 160,2500z, an increase of 35830z over that of the previous quarter. Melbourne, July 13. The gold yield of the colony for the last half year increased byjover 20,0000z as compared with the previous halfyear. Auckland, July 14. A deposit of £250 has been paid in , London and a contract signed in connection with the flotation of the Argosy property, Upper Tararu. An English syndicate has paid a deposit of £250 on the Golden Belt mine, Neavesville, Tairna, and a farther deposit of £250 is to be paid in a few days. The total purchase money is £3000 cash and a percentage of paid uo shares.
