The" supply of money is full and the difficulty of finding satisfactory investment increases rather thaa otherwise. The banking position in Australia becomes graduaiiy more and more settled and stable. Bank rates are unchanged and Building Societies continue to give 4 per cent for twelve months' deposits, but they are not eager borrowers. The rate^ in tbe market are without quotable change though tending to greater ease and, provided the margin is ample and the security thoroughly satisfactory, even small amounts are obtainable on mortgage of real estate at 5 per cent. All sound investment shares are eagerly sought for, and, best news of any, investors are still turning tbeir attention to some extent, to real estate.
