(Per Press Association.) London, July 11. Iredale played a superb innings, and was batting for five and a half hours. He was badly missed by Storer ofl the first ball. Trott also gave a fine display, and was at tbe wicket two bours and three-quart-ers ; though he gave no chance with his bat be was thrown out with his total at 7, but the fieldsman did not appeal. The first innings of the Players is : — Ward, b Jones 3 Sugg, c Kelly b Jones 9 Chatterton, b Giffen 39 Carpenter, st Kelly b Trumble ... 12 Davidson, run out 30 Total for 6 wickets 93 July 12. In the first innings of the Players Pougher played a steady innings, find Storer hit out freely, obtaining seven fours, but the batting of the remainder was feeble, and they had to follow on. The opening of the second innings proved disastrous — Ward succumbed to his second ball, and six wickets fell for 39.
