The Wool Market.

(Per Press Association.) London, July 1. The wool sales continue firm at the opening rates. Wool— Messrs Buxton Balme and Jacob submitted 9,918 bales, a mediocre selectiou. There was a large attendance of Home and continental buyers, and spirited competition, American buyers were absent. Crossbreds are unchanged. Merinos have declined 5 per cent, not without noticeable change in inferior sorts. The sales opened with spirit tbis day at tbe level of last sales. Competition by both Home and foreign buyers is active. The total quantity available, including wool held over from last series is 389,000 bales ; 76,000 bales of wbich have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct.
