Raumai Notes.

LFEOM OUE OWN COBBESPONDENT. | Mr Ehlein has taken up bis residence in the new and commodious structure he had erected in place of the one hi lost by fire. Several of the settlers here are selling or leasing their lands and good values are being received in both cases. Among others, I hear that Mr Durling is about to lease his farm on the Valley road, near the Baumai post office, as he purposes to leave the district. This should be a splendid opportunity for anyone wanting an improved farm on which is one of the best orchards in the colony, containing as it doe 3 six acres on which are planted every known variety of fruit trees in good bearing order, specially selected to meet the peculiarities of the climate. Mr Durling will be a loss to the district as he has always shown himself to be a useful and energetic settler. I notice that since the County Council appointed a ranger, no stock is allowed to run on the roads. The Pohangina creamery is still taking in milk, but the supply is getting low. However, the management intend to run the creamery during the winter if they receive a little more encouragement. Feed is abundant, and owing to the exceptionally fine weather we have had so far this winter, the grass is in good condition and plenty of it, so there ought to be no scarcity of milk. Pohangina, June 22nd, 1896.
