News from Fiji reports the ship Scottish Dales, from Puget Sound to Port Pirie, timber laden, is a total wreck at Vaton Island, 200 miles south east of Suva. Her bottom is apparently torn open from bow to mizzen mast, The crew escaped in two boats. The captain's boat reached Suva first, and as there was no sign of the second, in charge of the chief officer, the war ship Ringarooma went in search and found it. No lives were lost.
