A junior match was played at Feilding yesterday afternoon between the Red Stars and Rongotea, resulting in a win for the former by 3 to nil. Notwithstanding the rain, which continued to fall all day, and the sloppy state of the ground, the game was fast and at times very exciting, being one of the best matches played on the Oval this year. Shortly after commencing the game J. Rosoman sc6red a try from a forward rush, but the kick at the goal did not increase the score. On the whole the game was well contested, although the Stars had, if anything, a slight advantage over their opponents. Mr R. H. Whisker acted as referee. The Feilding v. Palmers ton, which was to have been played on Saturday next, has been postponed to a future date. Oroua Union fixtures for Saturday are -.—Birmingham v. Colyton, at Coly. ton ; Cheltenham v. Ruahine, at Birmingham. The junior fixtures for Saturday are : — Rongotea v. Kauhanganni, at Rongotea ; Pirate II v. Palmerston 11. The match Unionist (Feilding) v. Colyton, which was to have been played at Colyton yesterday, did not take place, owing to the rough state of the weather. Cheltenham will be represented in their match against Ruahine, at Birm- { ingham on Saturday, by the following players .-—Backs, W. Stringer, Pratt, Davidson, Hook, Hopleghan, Taylor; Forwards, L. Stringer, Beattie, Viles, Morrison, W. Mills, Sykes, DrescoH, Northcott, Burrell; emergencies, Callaghan, L. Sykes, Jaggard. The 1 - game will commence at, 2^30 sharp. .-.
