The Stock Market.

Johnsonville, June 17. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co. report ;— We had a full market of cattle and sheep. The prices for cattle were on a par with those ruling at last sales, j The sheep were better worth. Pigs also improved in value. Cattle— Best bullocks, £6 17s 6d to .£8 7s6d; others, £5 17s 6d to £6 10s ; small bullocks, £5 to £5 10s ; cows, £4 5s to £4 10s ; ox beef made 16s the lOOlbs ; and cow beef 14s the lOOlbs. Sheep— Wethers, 10s 8d to 12s 7d; ewes, 9s to 11s; lambs, 6s 6d; pigs (baconers) 35s to 42s 6d ; porkers, 14s ; stores 13s to 15s ; sow pigs 7s to Bs. We had full entries of both cattle and sheep at Waverley on Monday. Competition for sheep was brisk, and we succeeded in clearing the yards. For cattle the bidding was hardly up to vendors' expectations, but after all only a few milkers were turned out unsold. At Wanganui bidding was spirited. Cattle— At Waverley: Weaners, 26s 6d ; steers, JE2 Is 6d to £2 165; yearlings, 30s ; bullocks, £4 ss ; store cows, £2 17s 6d ; heifers, £2 5s to £8 10s. At Wanganui : Weaners, 17s ; fat cows, £3 10s ; milch cows, £3 4s to £4 18s. Sheep — At Waverley : Ewes in lamb, 4s 4d to 5s lid ; fat ewes, 8s Id ; empty ewes, 6s 6d to 6s 8d ; wethers, 7s 6d to 9s 6d ; wether lambs, 7s. At Waverley : Wethers, 7s 6d to 9s 3d ; lambs, 3s lOd ; fat wethers. 9s to lls -2d ; fat ewes, 7s 6d to 9s 6d ; Mr McCain's ewes, in lamb, 10s Id. Pigs— Large choppers, 34s to 40s; baconers, 20s to 295 ; porkers, 10s 6d to 12s ; small pigs, 4s 2d to 7s.
