[Per Press Association. Christchurch, June 15. At tbe annual meeting of the Canterbury Trotting Club to-night the balance showed the receipts, including £447 brought forward, to have been £3166 and the expenditure £2372 155, including £1619 15s paid in stakes, balance in had £793, assets valued at £1401, and liabilities nil. The president referred to the increase in the popularity of trotting, and mentioned that at the last meeting £10,035 had been put through the totalisator, or more than the amonnt handled by two of the metropolitan racing clubs. Mr Tonks, the retiring president, and Mrs E. C. J. Stevens were elected life members of the club, Mr J. Perkins was elected president for the ensuing year. Wellington, June 16. Mr Evetfc, the well-known handicap- 1 per being indisposed, will not attend the Wellington Racing Club's Winter Meeting though he will adjust the weights for the first day's racing, and Mr Henry has consented to make allotments for the second day.
