The sections in tho township will be sold in about two months. The Debating Society had a successful meeting on Thursday night. Next Thursday there is to be an impromptu discussion. On Thursday, 25th June, we have an open debate and a social afterwards. Tbe affair will be open free to tbe public. At the meeting Mr J. G. Browne will move, " That the abolition of Party Government in New Zealand is desirable." A petition will be presented to the County Council at Saturday's meeting re the pound question and a deputation will attend the meeting in support of it. The enforcing of the Impounding Act here in tbe township and suburbs would inflict a great hardship on many rateI payers, besides residents who are nonratepayers^—Standard^
