iPer Press Association. I Dunedin. June 2. Murray Alleyne, 21 years, was drowned in a creek at the Hawkesbury busb, near Waikouaiti, this morning. The directors of the Roxburgh Mining and Sluicing Company in their annual report state that tl.e value of the gold won during the year was .±"8922. Six dividends of 6d per share were paid durthe year, equal to nearly 17 per cent, and .£l5O had been put on deposit. The manager reports another return of 3610z 13dwt 18grs, value £1392 9s 9d, for the month and a dividend of 6d per share has been declared. Christchubch, June 2. At Lyttelton to-day Capt. Moore, of the schooner Clio, was run over by some railway trucks which were being shunted and one of his arms was nearly severed. To-night he was in a very low condition. Wellington, This Day. In the case of H. Field's, charged with forgery, the jury, after being locked up all night, returned a verdict of " not guilty " this morning.
