Gollan's horses— Sternchaser (Nordenfeldt — Realisation dam of Maxim), Mosquetaire (Nordenfeldt — Frailty, dam of Trenton), and Pounamu (Newminister — Beryl, full sister to Nordenfeldt), were taken through to Wellington last night by Mr P. Martin, to be shipped for England. i The Waipawa Mail is responsible for | the following paragraph :— H. Knight, who along with his Ascot mare Poinsetta was disqualified for life by the C.J.C. for corrupt practices at the Greymouth Meeting, had the audacity to ring her into the principal horse event at the combined sports held at Wallingford last Friday. He won the stake and got away with the bullion before the stewards became aware of the fact.
