Pohangina Notes.

At a meeting held here on Saturday night it was decided to form a Mutual Improvement and Debating Society. The following officers were appointed : —President, Mr J. G. Brown ; VicePresidents, Messrs G. Eobinson and A. E. Welsh ; Treasurer, Mr G. Smithson ; Secretary, Mr A. E. Welsh. Thursday evening, at 7.30., was fixed as the meeting night, and the terms of membership one shilling entrance fee and a subscription of sixpence per month. The above mentioned officers constitute a committee of management. The subject for discussion next Thursday will be 11 Prohibition," Mr W. A. Spicer speaking in favor and Mr W. Bolton against. Rules of procedure will also be considered at that meeting. Meeting of Football Club in the Hall on Friday at 8 p.m — Standard.
