FROZEN MEAT PRICES.—A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. I ] Sir, —An error has crept into yonr ; otherwise excellent report of what I said at Feilding the other day re prices of ] frozen meat. Instead of "they got, say, j 4;l-d for tbeir mutton," speaking of New | Zealand farmers, it should be: " That : local butch»rs in England paid 4£d for frozen mutton, and if we laid it down at 2^d for expenses at our shops in England there would be a margin of 2d to growers. As the mutton sold for sd, 6d, 7d, and even Bd. there would be profit enough to pay expenses of shops be. sides." Thanking you for bringing the : matter so prominently forward. I am, &c„ James J. Wilson. Bulls, June 1, 1896. ■—■aaonß—_■>■
