1 O*^"™^^ The Egmont Farmers' Union, Ltd., report as follows:— Our Okaiawa sale was spoilt last Thursday by a terribly wet day, so that though there was a fair muster of cattle, buyers did not care to face the rain, therefore not much business was done. We quote ; — Fat, cows, £3 to £3 17s 6d; 2 to 2£ year steers, £3 Is 6d to £3 11s ; springing heifers, £3 2s 6d to £3 12s 6d ; weaners, 10s to 16s 6d. We held our usual sale at Mantua on Wednesday the 20th inst, when double the advertised quantity of stock came forward for sale. Bidding. for springers and cows and calves was. brisk, bat other lines lacked competition. We quote :— 2 to 2\ year steers, J-3 to £3 16s 6d ; fat and forward cows and heifers, £3 to JL3 15s ; cows and calves^ £2 15s to £3;- 12 to 15 months steers, £1 8s to £2; store cows, £2 2a 6d to £2 10s. f
