il'tr Trfps Asfocinticn.l Wellington, May 18. The steamer Kuahine, from London via Cape and Hotmrt, arrived at 4 o'cleck this afternoon. This Day. A labouring man named Hook, in the employ of the Public Works Department was drowned off the Government launch Ellen Ballauce, this morning. Dunedin. May 18. A three-year-old girl named Green was run over by a grocer's cart while playing on Saturday afternoon. She was removed to the hospital where she died shortly afterwards. Auckland, May 18. The enquiry held at Waihi into the death of Frank O'Neill, found in the Martha mine, resulted in a verdict of accidental death. Tha verdict was contrary to the summing rip of the coroner, and against his ruling. He considered the evidence precluded all possibility of accidental death. Christ-church, May 18. Mr A. Sannders, member for Selwyn, addressed his constituents at West Melton on Friday, and received a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. Mastekton, This Day. Mr Hogg addressed his constituents here last night and upheld the Governments legislation, but condemned the administration, particularly of the lands department. A vote of thanks and confidence in the Government was carried with some dissentients.
