Stock Market.
Messrs Gorton and Son report:— At our Feilding yards on Friday last we held a very successful sale before an unusually large attendance. All classes of sheep were eagerly sought after, and a marked improvement all round resulted. All sheep yarded changed hands under the hammer but two pens. A small entry of cattle came forward, all being sold bar one pen of small weavers. We quote— Light fat cows, £3 16s to £ 4 ; forward heifers, £3 ; weaners, 19s to 245 ; calves, 11s ; empty heifers, 455. Store wethers, 8s sd, 8s 7d, 8s »d, 8s lid, 9s 2d ; woolly lambs, 5s 8d to Gs ; shorn lambs, 4s 3d to ss ; culls, 3s lOd ; empty forward ewes, 6s 5d to 6s 9d ; fat and forward empty ewes. 7s Id to 8s Id ; culls, 3s 3d, 3s 9d, 4s Id ; ewes and wethers, mixed, 7s 6d ; ewes in lamb (light wool) 4s.
