jPer Press Association.! Wellington, May 16. Two hoys named Cathro aud Needharn, 16 aud 15 years, who stole £'55 from the office of Mr Young, solicitor, were before the Court ' to-day. The charge was dealt with summarily at Mr Young's request and the boys remanded for the report of the Probation Officer. Auckland, May 16. At the Auckland Coursing Club's meeting the finals were run off with the following results :— Maiden Stakes won by Hackett's Ajax ; runner up, Hinton's Sir Thomas. Avondale Cup by Whittin's Guy Fawkes ; runner up, J. W. Bussell's Dora B. Supplementary Stakes by Ligaru's Vicar ; runner up, Woods' Bom p. Several passengers by the Alameda from Sydney reported having missed sundry articles of clothing in the same mysterious way as on the Tarawera. This confirms the suspicion that these thefts have been prepetrated before the vessel leaving Sydney. Thos. Tremain has been committed on the charge of breaking and entering the store of Mr W. A. Yv'illiams of Botorua. This Day. Dr Pollen died this morning at Avondale. The directors of the Victoria Company accepted the offer of I_. D. Nathan and Co to float the property on a capital of £200,000, the present shareholders to receive £80,000 shares, £1000 cash and twenty thousand working capital. Dunedin, May 16. Jas. McLeod, aged 50, dropped dead yesterday in a field ih which he was working, near Milton.
