(Per Press Association). Melbourne, May 13. The steamer Asphodel had a disastrous voyage, from the eastern colonies. She encountered the full force of a fierce gnle, daring which she lost 95 bullocks, 900 sheep, 40 horses, and 20 pigs. The brlance were landed in pitiable condition. Arrived to-day — Talune, from the Binff. Sydney, May 13. The weither -|s bitterly cold in the country districts, an&it is snowing heavily on the high lands. Sailed to day — TaßjJ^&nia, for Auckland. Hi:>baet, This Day. Arrived — Ruahine from London via Cape. The Ruahine sails at noon for Wellington. She has 17 passengers for Australia and 62 for New Zealand.
