FEILDING II v. PIRATE 11. The Junior Cup match between tlic Pirates aud Feildiug Clubs second fifteen's played on the Feilding Oval yesterday afternoon resulted in an easy win for the visitors by 9 points to nil, Fenton scoring '2 tries and Bedford 1. From the commencement of the game the superiority of the visitors was easily seen seen and the local boys (who were much lighter than their opponents) were soon on their defence, and though they fought hard were no match for them. Shortly after the commencement Bedford carried the ball over the line and •scored first try for Palmerston North, Fenton taking the kick failed to convert. Feilding kicked off but it was scon down near their line again and after some tight scrums and line play Fenton scored the second try for the visitors, but no goal resulted. From this to the end of the first spell Feilding did their best to make matters even, but though the attempts of Foster, Gosling, Haybittle, Toy, Hughey and Marston were very good, half-time was called with Palmerston 6 points Feilding nil. During the second spell play was centred for a short time when Palmerston from a scrum carried the ball along and forced Feilding down twice in succession and shortly after Fenton scored a try which Pallant failed to convert. Time was shortly afterwards called. Messrs McMinn aud Lloyd officiated as line umpires, while Mr Card acted as referee. The Red Stars were defeated, at Rongotea, yesterday by the Eongotea team, by three points to nil. There is likely to be some trouble over the match as the Red Stars allege the goal obtained by their opponents waa unfair, the ball not having gone between the posts, and, also, that a mark obtained by them in front of their opponents' goal was disallowed. The following players will represent Palmerston North in their matches on Saturday, with Feilding and the Pirate second fifteen respectively :— First fifteen (at Feilding)'— Giorgi, Weight, R.
