Hon. J. MGKenzie at Rangiora.
(Per Press Association.) Ranoiora, May 12. The Hon. J. McKenzie, who is on a four-days' visit to North Canterbury, addressed a crowded meeting at Rangiora to-night. The Mayor occupied the chair. The Minister, who met with a cordial reception, spoke two and a half hours, refuting Opposition statements, particularly those made by Mr Allan recently to the Bruce electors. He dealt fully with most of the main political questions. In outlining the future legislatiou proposals the Fair Rent Bill, Public Auditors for Companies Accounts, Abolitiou of Special Juries and State Fire Insurance, were heartily applauded by the audience. The applause through out the meeting was frequent and hearty. At the close a vote of thanks to the speaker aud confidence in the Government was carried with bub one dissentient.)
