T^TOTICE is hereby given that it is I^l the intention of this Council, at a meeting to be held on Saturday, the 16th day of May, 1896, instant, under the provisions of the Rating Act of 1894, and of clause 148, Counties Act, 1886, to make a General Rate of three farthings in the £ on the whole of the rateable property within the Kiwitea County, as appearing on the Valuation Roll in force for the year ending 31st March, 1897. Also, that it is the intention of this Council, under the provisions of Clause 150 of the Counties Act, 1886, tc make a Separate Rate of three farth ings in the £ over the whole of the rateable property within the Apiti and Makino Ridings, one half -penny in the £ in the Hautapu Riding, and on< farthing in the £ in the Ongo, Wai tuna, Oroua, and Kimbolton Ridings Both of the above rates to becom< payable in one sum on the first day o: June, 1896.
