Browne presided at the concert, and the otber trustees, as well as the hon. secretary, were present looking after tbe arrangements, and so well were the duties carried out that everything passed off without a single hitch. The thanks of the trustees and public were unanimously given to all those whojtook part in the concert, and before the Palmerston contingent left (after singing a party song " Home, boys, home,") they aud all the performers were accorded three hearty cheers which were answered by three for Pohangina. The alterations at our Hall have greatly added 'to its appearance and convenience, A lean-to has been erected at the back in which there is a private room for ladies and a commodious supper room.
