(Per Press Association). Wellington, April 23. From a letter received by tbe Industries and Commerce Department from Messrs Jas. A. Cantlie & Co., merchants of Montreal, Canada, it appears that there is a good market in tbe United States for our rabbit skins and that about 25 to 30 millions of Australian and New Zealand rabbit skins were imported into the United States last year at prices ranging from 2£ to Is 4d per pound. The Wellington Harbor Board has adopted tbe report of a committee that tbe first cost of construction of a dock can only be obtained by means of a loan ; that assuming that the dock would pay for its maintenance and working expenses, the annual expenditure would be £12,000 ; that tbe committee is of opinion the Board cannot at present increase it charges to an amount sufficient to cover such an annual charge. A man named Richard White was arrested at Eltham yesterday in connection with the jewellery robbery at Eltham station about a year ago, when goods to the value of £25 in charge of a traveller for Ahlfeld Bros., were stolen from the Railway station.
