Shipment of Salmon Ova.

(Pek Press Association). Wellington, April 22. Twelve cases of salmon ova arrived by the Kaikoura, shipped to the Government. < The shipment was prepared by Mr Armistead, of the Sol way fisheries, Dumfries, but unfortunately it arrived in a bad condition. Arrangements had been made by Government to distribute the ova to different acclimatisation societies, but in view of the condition of the shipment the department which had charge of it very wisely handed it over to the Wellington Acclimatisation Society to try to save as many live fry as possible at Masterton fish ponds. Any fry saved from the shipment will be distributed afterwards among the different acclimatisation societies entitled to it.
