(Per Press Association.) London, April 19. At yesterday's sales 1275 casks tallow were ofiesed, 450 being sold. Fine mutton 225, medium 20s ; fine beef 20s, medium 19s. Hides, heavy, 3|d to 3£d ; light, 3-^d. Basils, Australian strained, average, 7§d ; New Zealand, Bd. Leather, best Australian heavy, 7*d. Tbe N.Z. Loan aud Mercantile Company bave received the following London market cable' dated 17 tb April 1896 :— Tallow. — Stocks are in excess of trade requirements. Tbere is no speculative demand. N.Z. line mutton tallow is worth 21s per cwt ; N.Z. good beef tallow is worth 18s 9d per cwt. Quotations nominal. Frozen Meats — Wellington mutton is •worth 2|d per lb. Butter— Market weak. Fine qualities range iu value from 90s to 94s per cwt. ______
