Wellington Land Board.

The regular meeting of the above was held yesterday. Present —Messrs J. H. Baker (Commissioner, in the chair), J. Stevens, A. W. Hogg, and Fred Firani, M.H.R's., and A. W. Fitzherbert. Harris, section 77, Block VII, Mikimiki; H. W. Pitcher, sections 6 and 31, Blocks IE and XII, Omahine and Momohaki. Transfers approved — A. McKenzie to T. G. McKenzie, section 36, Block XV, Apiti ; J. Turner to A. King and G. Eaton, part section 280, Block XI, Waiuaioru ; E. Taylor to P. W. Scally, section 2, Block 1, Pnketoi ; B. Flynn to J. S. Williams, sections 34 and 39, Blocks II and V, Makuri. Transfer to be approved if conditions complied with : — P, C. Jorgensen to W. McGruddy, section 23, Block XTV, Mangaone. Conversions approved — M, McMullen, section 43, Block XVIII, Mangabao ; A. Downes, section 49, Block IV, Wainuoru. Applications to sublease granted— A, H. Tompkins, section 8, Block XII. Ongo ; C. Waglan, section 21, Block X, Eopuaranga. Snrrenders accepted — M. J. Munro, Marton Association, No. 3 ; T. O'Leary, F. Marshall, and T. Mulvihill, No. 1 ; W. Stevens, Somerville; P. Norman, Makuri; Y. N. Lindstrom, do.; J. Ereagher, Rewa. The Commissioner explained that the signature to the declaration attached to the application for a section the day before was not that of the applicant, and he had rejected it. The person supposed to be responsible for the forgery was the successful applicant for another section, and he refused to state who had written the name at the foot of the declaration. The Commissioner did not think the Board should approve of the successful apphcation until that had been done. — The Board decided to hold the matter over. It was decided to inform J. Fortune the transfer of section 32, Block XII, to his son could not be allowed for twelve months and until improvements were completed. Banger to report on Mr Smith's application to transfer section 25, Block IV, Tararua. Transfer from W. R. Tremain to J. P. Armstrong of section 6, Block HI, Tiriaukawa, finally approved. Donald McEenzie's application to transfer section 52, Block X, Apiti, to W. Watson, to be granted when papers are completed. C. J. Morphett applied to transfer section 9, Block XII, Mangabao, to W. M. Townsend. It was decided to get the ranger's report, and to ask Mr Townsend how he came to occupy the section. — Standard.
