Polo Tournament
The Manawatu Polo Club's sports, beld on the Palmei'ston' racecourse yesterday, were successful, despite tbe unfavorable weather. The results were as follows :- Thread -needle race — Miss Wilson's Butterfly (W. B. Lloyd), 1; Mrs A. S. Baker's Daisy (A. S. Baker), 2. Flagrace — A. 8. Baker's Tommy (owner), 1 ; E. Keiller's Molly (ownej.-) ; 2. Bending competition — R. H. Rhodes' Jack-o'-Lantern, 1 ; P. Wotton's Maltese Cat, S. Polo Ball race — R. H. Shekel (owner), 1 ; A. S. Baker's Ross (owner), 2. Hurdles, six furlongs— A E. G. Rhode's 12st 21b, 1 ; H. Caro,er.on's Featherston, 2 ; time, lmin 35 1-Ssecs. JJJanawatu Cup, four furlongs— Mr R. S. Abraham's Princess May, list 71b, 1 ; W. Chapman's The Goat, list 41b, 2 ; time, 56secs. Tandem race — R. H. Rhodes' Jack-o' -Lantern and Shekel, 1. Steeplechase, about 1 mile— X. D. Dalrymple's Cocky, 12st 21b, 1 ; A. E. G.
