Supreme Court Sitting.
(Per Press Association.) Nelson, March 6. At the Supreme Court, beforo Judge Buckley, William George Morgan, for stealing letters at the Inangahua junction post office, vras sentenced to two years' hard labor. The Judge said it was fortunate for the prisoner that the jury took a lenient view, and found him guilty of stealing only letters, aud not money. Charles Dane, of weak intellect, was sentenced to three years' hard for indecent assault ou a child at Nelson. Wellington, March 6. The Supreme Court has been occupied the last two days hearing a charge of perjury preferred against a woman named Mary Savage in connection with evidence she gave in tho Magistrate's Court with reference to having witnessed a certain assault whereas it was alleged she was some considerable distance away from the same at the time. Evidence was called for the defence to prove she was present at the time and eventually the jury brought in a verdict of not guilty. '
