(Per Press Association) Sydney, Feb. 28. The match between South Australia and New South Wales wa9 distinguished by the long partnership between Darling and Hill, both of whom hit with great brilliancy, and completely collared the local bowling. The former made 121, and the latter is still in for 166. The other scores were-Giflen 11 and Beedman 19 ; total for seven wickets, 326. This Day. Napier, Feb. 28. For the cricket match Wellington v. Hawke's Bay, there was fine weather with a batsmen's wicket. Wellington in the first innings scored 211, Tucker 15, Gardener 59, Blacklock 23, Levers 45, Upham 90, and K. Tucker 41, were the principal scorers. For Hawke's Bay five wickets are down for 156. Lusk 14, Bennett 23, Ludbrook (not out) 63, Bruce 20, and Gore 20, were the most serviceable to their side. The game will be resumed to-morrow. This Day. Hawkes Bay's Ist innings closed for 207, fourteen behind Wellington's Ist innings.
