(Per Press Association). Wellington, February 28. The following are the agricultural statistics for Canterbury area sown or intended to be sown : — Wheat, 169,496 acres ; quantity now on hand 526,284 bushels. Oats 127,0.35 acres; quantity on band 509,988 bushels. Barley, 12,198 acres ; quantity on hand 175,---17 2; peas, 4845 acres ; quantity on hand, 1672 bushels. Cattle, 89,040. Sheep (not including this year's lambs), 417,125. Swine, 24,172. Horses 44,510.
