Rongotea Notes.

_ O ■ The Campbell town Band of Hope held their anniversary social last night, ■which proved a great success, about fifty persons being present. After some pleasant games had been indulged in for the benefit of the youngsters, an ample tea was provided, to which full justice was done by all present. The following songs and recitations were given :— " The Publican's Net," recitation, by Mr Alcheson. Mr Sanson sang "Brown" and "The Cabin With the Roses Round the Door." Both gentlemen were loudly applauded. Mrs J. Sans-n played the accompaniments on the piano in a pleasant and skilful manner ThH committee deserve every credit for their uutiring exertiobs to make the affair a success, but a special word of thanks and praise is due to Misses Harper and Tompkins, who were at the hall all the afternoon preparing for the tea. The annual report, which was read by the Secretary, was very satisfactory, and a very enjoyable evening was brought to a close at about 10 o'clock.
