Fires in Canterbury.
(Per Press Association.) Chbistchurch, Feb. 23. The house of Joseph Woodcock, at Taitapu, was destroyed by fire on Friday night through a candle setting fire to a bottle of turpentine. A house in Gloucester-street East, owned by Mr Walker, of Okain's Bay, and occupied by Mr Alston, was with its contents totally destroyed by fire. Furniture insured for £100. Insurance on house not known.
