Medical Congress.
«. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, This Day. Speaking yesterday, Dr Batchelar said the Congress had done some really important work, especially with reference to tuberculosis. Dr Springthorpe's address on public health was the most intellectual, brilliant, and inspiring deliverance ever listened to, and if for it alone the Congress had achieved its purpose. Speaking as one who had been present at the Nottingham Conference in 1892 he declared the speaking here was of quite as high a standard as on that occasion. The Governor's party left for Oamaru this morning, and the bulk of the medical visitors left for Mt. Cook. The Conference closed its labors this morning. The next sittings will be held in Brisbane in 1899.
