(Per Press Association Sydney, January 25. The match, Victoria v. New South Wales began to-day under unfavorable circumstances. The home team batted first, and had lost one wicket for 33 when play was stopped for the day by rain. The pitch was in a sodden state. McKenzie was dismissed without scoring, Iredale and Donnan are each not out with it. Melbourne, Jan. 25. A Victorian team began a match against a Tasmanian team to-day. The Victorians in their first innings scored 101, the Tasmanians have lost 9 wickets for 178. The chief scorers were Burn 66, Sairgny 37. This Day. In Saturday's game Eady, of the Tasmanian team, took 8 of the Victorian wickets at a cost of 34 runs.
