The Boot Conference.

fPer Press Association! Christchurch, This Day. For the past few days the Conference of representatives of the Boot Manufacturers' Association and of the operatives bas been sitting twice daily, either in full conference or sittings of pub-committees I appointed to discuss certain questions. The sub-committee having fully discussed the present position have agreed that to proceed auy further with the business of the Conference would be utterly futile, and that until the principles involved in the proposed general rules and conditions of labour are finally settled it is impossible to disouss wages. In tbe meantime botb sides agree to work on the prices and conditions contained in the statement signed by Mr Recce, subject to twenty-one days notice of alteration by either side.
